As semester 1 draws to a close, Spocksoc will be continuing our weekly Friday night screening. This week, we start a new show: Helix.
A team of Scientists from the Center of Disease Control and Prevention travel to the Arctic to study a potential outbreak of disease. What they find throws them into a life-and-death situation that could decide the fate of mankind. As always, we will be meeting at 5pm in Macaulay Theatre with a pizza run at 7pm
In other news, Spocksoc will be hosting a movie outing to the the dark fantasy: Maleficent. Maleficent explores the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turned her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever. We will update the event when we have more information on session times. To keep up-to-date, click on the link below to go to the event page. Remember that we also have a X-men: Days of Futures Past outing this afternoon. We will be meeting at 6:20 to see the 6:50 sceening
